On Wednesday, March 18, Dr. Sharon B. Megdal, Director of the University of Arizona Water Resources Research Center (WRRC), testified before the U.S. House of Representatives Committee on Appropriations, Subcommittee on Interior, Environment, and Related Agencies.

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's Green Infrastructure Program will launch its 2015 Webcast Series Tuesday, Mar. 24, from 1:00 - 2:30 p.m. EST, with the webinar “Green Infrastructure for Arid Communities.” The webinar will feature a presentation from Sonoran Institute Conserve2Enhance (C2E) Coordinator Emily Brott on “Tucson's Conserve to Enhance and Living River Programs: Improving Urban River Corridors for People and Wildlife.” 

Projected water deficits mean land and water managers must be proactive in their management of rivers and shallow aquifers if they want to maintain the ecosystems dependent upon them. To manage these resources, managers and decision makers need easy access to the best techniques available for determining how much water ecosystems need.

On February 9-11, 2015, WRRC Director Sharon B. Megdal and Associate Director Jean McLain will be traveling to Washington, DC for the 2015 meeting of the National Institutes for Water Resources (NIWR).
