National Water-Use at Lowest Levels since before 1970

A new report by the United States Geological Survey (USGS) shows water use across the country reached its lowest recorded level in nearly 45 years. Water withdrawals in the United States in 2010 were estimated to be about 355 billion gallons per day (Bgal/d), which was 13 percent less than in 2005.

Megdal, Director of the Water Resources Research Center (WRRC), recently co-authored an article on the Colorado River and the Jordan River with Assaf Chen (Ben-Gurion University of the Negev, Israel), Adam Abramson (Ben-Gurion University) and Nir Becker (Tel-Hai College, Israel), which was published Nov. 12 in the Journal of Arid Environments.

Arizona Project WET Delivers STEM Education to 4th Graders at Flagstaff Water Festival

PAG and Arizona Project WET Team Up to Keep Tucson’s Stormwater Clean

Sept. 25, 2014

When it rains in Tucson, rainwater flows off yards, parking lots and streets into storm drains and desert washes. Pima Association of Governments’ (PAG) “Clean Water Starts With Me!” outreach campaign arrives in Tucson each monsoon season, spreading the message that we can all help maintain healthy, pollutant-free stormwater in our community.
