The Nature Conservancy in Arizona and Arizona Project WET at the University of Arizona (Water Education for Teachers) are joining forces to bring a water education program to the Phoenix-metro area.

WRRC IS hosting a Conserve to Enhance webinar series starting February 21 at 1:00pm MST/12:00pm PST for the first webinar in the series, “Making the Link Between Water Efficiency and the Environment: Conserve to Enhance.”

On November 4th, U of A hosted its annual campus-wide Student Showcase. This event occurs annually during Homecoming weekend and provides more than 100 undergraduate and graduate students with an opportunity to communicate their research with interested community members, university students, and returning alumni.

The Joe Gelt Student Writing Competition for undergraduates in Arizona universities is now open for 2011. The Water Resources Research Center inaugurated this annual contest in Fall 2009 as a motivational tool to encourage better writing about water.

The UA Water Resources Research Center has just released the 2011 Arroyo, dedicated to the subject of desalination. Water professionals in Arizona have been focusing recently on water desalination as a means of increasing supply to meet the state’s growing water demands.

A University of Arizona research group is backing an innovative new water conservation program that one day could save thousands of acre-feet of water for area environmental projects.
