Paul Orme, president of Family Farm Alliance, and Ronald “Ron” Rayner, former Alliance board member, are receiving recognition for their distinguished work and leadership in Western irrigated agriculture.

Orme and his family have made significant contributions to Arizona’s agricultural community and will be inducted into the Arizona Farm and Ranch Hall of Fame. Orme serves on WRRC’s External Advisory Committee and is scheduled to be a guest lecturer for WRRC Director Sharon B. Megdal’s water policy class this April.

Rayner was recently recognized by the Historical League as a 2025 Arizona Historymaker. He joins more than 90 Arizona Historymakers to date, including Sandra Day O’Connor and the Navajo Code Talkers, and has received awards and accolades throughout his career for his innovative crop management practices and longstanding leadership in the Arizona agricultural community. Rayner also serves as a member of the Advisory Board for a multi-state USDA NIFA Ag Groundwater Project on sustaining groundwater-dependent agriculture in the Southwest, in which the WRRC is a significant collaborator.

Congratulations, Paul and Ron!
