A Water History Timeline and StoryMap of the Upper Verde River Watershed is now accessible on the WRRC website. The Timeline and StoryMap highlight how the Upper Verde River watershed, including its landscapes and communities, has changed from ancient times to the present. The project is part of the WRRC’s Water Research and Planning Innovations for Dryland Systems (Water RAPIDS) program. Since 2014, the Water RAPIDS program has been actively working with local, state, nonprofit, and federal partners on various projects.

AZDA Launches New Innovation Pilot Program
The Arizona Department of Agriculture (AZDA) recently launched the Agriculture, Soil Health, and Water Efficiency Innovation Pilot Program, which will provide a source of funding for farmers and agricultural producers to collect data and implement water-focused soil health innovations in agriculture. The AZDA hopes this program will help bring novel technologies to Arizona that improve soil health and increase water efficiency in agriculture.
Photos Capture Significance of Water
Photography offers a compelling way to express human connections with water and its beauty, power, and essential role in sustaining life. This theme was reflected at Planet Women’s 3rd Annual Women and Water Convening, which was held in Tuba City, Arizona, earlier this month and was attended by WRRC Director Sharon B. Megdal and WRRC Associate Director Jamie McEvoy. The WRRC invites you to share your own visual interpretations of water by entering the WRRC 2025 Photo Contest: A World of Water.
