Jamie McEvoy

Associate Director

Jamie McEvoy, Ph.D. is the Associate Director of The University of Arizona Water Resources Research Center (WRRC) and Associate Extension Specialist in the Department of Environmental Science. She received her Ph.D. in Geography and Development from the University of Arizona in 2013 with a focus on climate change adaptation in the water sector in the U.S.-Mexico border region. Prior to joining the WRRC, Jamie was an Associate Professor of geography at Montana State University (2013-2024) where she conducted research and teaching on water governance, climate adaptation, and equity. She has published on topics including participatory water planning, ecological drought, flood risk communication, desalination, climate adaptation, and nature-based strategies.

As a social scientist, Jamie works with interdisciplinary teams and diverse stakeholders to analyze water policy and management strategies and identify barriers and opportunities for equitable water governance. The cornerstone of her research and extension activities is building relationships with interested partners to collaboratively address water issues.
