Elia Tapia

Associate in Extension, TAAP & Water RAPIDS

Elia Tapia holds a PhD in Arid Lands Resource Sciences with a Minor in Hydrology from the University of Arizona. At the WRRC, she works primarily with the Transboundary Aquifer Assessment Program (TAAP) and the Water RAPIDS program. Her work focuses on connecting science with stakeholders to support shared understanding and informed decision-making. Tapia brings experience in hydrology, hydrogeology, and climate change, together with extensive binational and international collaboration. Her work has included projects across the United States, Mexico, and Latin America addressing groundwater availability, climate and drought resilience, transboundary water resources, and disaster risk assessment.
