Long-time WRRC friend and collaborator Crystal Thompson, Executive Affairs Advisor and Communications Manager of the Central Arizona Project (CAP), recently received a lifetime achievement award for her dedicated work in support of the Colorado River basin. The honor recognizes Thompson for her years of leadership service with the Colorado River Water Users Association (CRWUA). She was presented with this special award at CRWUA’s 2024 annual conference in December.
Thompson has dedicated her career to spreading awareness of the challenges facing the Colorado River. She was quoted in CAP’s Know Your Water News article about the award, saying “The more Colorado River water users know about the river and others who depend on it, the more effectively they can contribute to protecting and managing it into the future. The work we do with CRWUA brings water users together, which is incredibly important to accomplishing that.”
Congratulations, Crystal, on this well-deserved achievement!
