It has been 40 years since construction of the CAP started at Lake Havasu in 1973.  Join us for an informative workshop on this project, one that touches almost every Arizonan in some way.

Pam Pickard, CAP Board President

Pam will introduce the speakers and give us background information we will need to understand the complexities of the CAP.

Larry Person, CAP Community Outreach

Larry has promised to give a rousing talk about the history and customers of the CAP, as well as the little understood relationship between water and power.

Dr. Jim Holway FAICP, CAP Board Member and Planner for 32 years

Jim will focus on environmental issues by discussing climate change and CAP sustainability efforts such as water recharge.  He will also enlighten us on the Central-Arizona Groundwater Replenishment District (CAGRD).  This District will be very important to growth in the rapidly developing areas of the Sun Corridor.

Lisa Atkins, CAP Board Member

Lisa will discuss the new US-Mexico Water Agreement and how it will impact Arizona.  She will also talk about how the CAP is planning for a potential shortage of Colorado River water.

Great speakers, helpful information to take back to your community, delicious lunch and great networking opportunities- what more can you ask for on a Friday afternoon? Please REGISTER at http://www.azplanning.org/workshops/2013/CentralArizonaProjectWorkshop.html.
