What’s Next? Upcoming WRRC Fall Events
Sept. 2, 2022
The Fall 2022 semester is upon us, and the WRRC is preparing for another exciting season of Brown Bag Webinars and other events. We kicked off the new academic year with two Brown Bags, discussing the recently released Pima County Water Factsheet and the Rio Reimagined Initiative on the Salt-Gila River corridor. Recordings of both webinars are now available on our website. While our upcoming events calendar is still subject to changes and additions, we are looking forward to some excellent presentations! Our next Brown Bag Webinar will be Monday, September 12, when we will hear about the National Water Reuse Action Plan from Sharon Nappier, the National Program Leader for Water Reuse in the Office of Water at the US Environmental Protection Agency. On Tuesday, September 20, we’ll learn about the making of a recently released series of educational videos on groundwater, produced by Arizona Project Wet.
Additional upcoming Brown Bags include presentations on The Water Recycling Revolution from William M. Alley, project reports from student researchers who received small research grants through the WRRC 104(b) Program, and the Santa Cruz Watershed Collaborative’s Watershed Restoration Plan. We are also planning a WRRC Special Event documentary screening and panel discussion of “Thirst for Justice,” tentatively scheduled to coincide with the national “Imagine A Day Without Water” campaign on Thursday, October 20. We will also host a co-sponsored event with the Agricultural Office of the Chilean Embassy to the US, tentatively scheduled for Tuesday, November 29.
Additionally, the Indige-FEWSS Native Voices in STEM seminar series will continue this fall, including presentations from Lani Tsinnajinnie on Wednesday, September 28, Melissa Clutter on Wednesday, October 26, and Raymond Torres on Wednesday, November 30. You can view their events listings and learn more here.
Keep an eye on the Events listings on our website or in the Weekly Wave so you can add these dates to your calendar. All WRRC-hosted and co-sponsored events will be posted as details become available. We encourage you to also take this brief survey to provide feedback on previous event topics and help guide our future programming.
