The speakers will be discussing the role Roosevelt Irrigation District has played in the remediation of the West Van Buren Area Water Quality Assurance Revolving Fund site. The project has hit many milestones and steps along the way including:

a. Early Response Action
b. Acute Health Study
c. Remediation Pilot Project
d. Modified Early Response Action
e. Feasibility Study

The presentation will continue to describe the remaining steps in the process of remediating a large contaminated groundwater plume. The struggle to correct the damage done to this critical resource is ongoing.

Mr. Neese is currently the Superintendent of the Roosevelt Irrigation District. He is a registered professional engineer with more than 15 years in the water resource business. Donovan has a Master’s in Business Administration. He is a member of the American Society of Civil Engineers, the Colorado River Water Users Association and the United States Committee on Irrigation and Drainage. He also sits on the board of the Irrigation and Electrical Districts Association and the Agri-business Council of Arizona.
 
Mr. Peterson is a founding partner of Synergy Environmental, formed in February of 2010, and has nearly 35 years of experience in environmental engineering and geology. He has worked in high-tech industry as well as in the consulting practice, addressing a wide range of environmental challenges in many public and private sectors with focus on water/wastewater/groundwater treatment, permitting, and compliance. He has a Bachelor of Science degree in Geology from Northern Arizona University and a Master of Science degree in Engineering from Arizona State University. He is a Registered Professional Engineer in Arizona in the environmental engineering discipline.
