On October 30, the Worldly Women Collective hosted an evening gathering to feature women’s leadership in water management. A panel of leading women highlighted the powerful role of women in driving the future of water management, sustainability, and innovation, emphasizing that their voices are essential to progress both locally and globally. Natalie DeRoock, Public Affairs Administrator for Tucson Water, moderated the discussion by panelists Gwendena Lee-Gatewood, former Tribal Chairwoman of the White Mountain Apache Tribe and current Co-Chair of Indigenous Women's Leadership Network, Leslie Meyers, Chief Water Executive & Associate General Manager of Water Resources at Salt River Project, and Sharon B. Megdal, WRRC Director. Topics included partnership building, advancing in leadership, and the role of resilience and mentorship. The event also included brief remarks from other distinguished speakers, including Scottsdale Mayor David Ortega, and was held at the new University of Arizona Scottsdale Center.
