U of A Ranked #1 for Water Resources on ShanghaiRanking

ShanghaiRanking has published world university rankings by academic subjects since 2009. In their ranking for 2024, the University of Arizona (U of A) was recognized as the top university in the US for Water Resources and placed #4 globally. Using a range of objective academic indicators and third-party data, ShanghaiRanking rates universities in 55 subjects across natural sciences, engineering, life sciences, medical sciences, and social sciences. The evaluation criteria include world-class faculty, world-class output, high-quality research, research impact, and international collaboration.
Northwest A&F University (NWAFU), located in Xianyang, China, shares a dual-degree program with the U of A Department of Environmental Science (ENVS) and also received recognition as a “Top 5” world-ranking university in Water Resources. Six ENVS faculty members and 340 students who live and work in Xianyang currently use the University of Arizona’s ENVS curriculum. The first cohort graduated in June 2024, marking a significant milestone for this collaborative and innovative program.
