On June 1, 2012, the OECD (Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development) sponsored Expert Workshop on Water Security: Managing Risks and Tradeoffs in Selected River Basins was held In Paris, France.

The WRRC has released its Annual Report for the calendar year 2011. The report showcases the accomplishments of the WRRC, it faculty, professional personnel and students.

The 6th World Water Forum is being held March 12 through 17, in Marseille, France, with the participation of more than 180 countries.  A major international event in water science, management and governance, the World Water Fora attract representation across the spectrum for high-level ministerial delegations to groups of citizens and indigenous people. More than 25,000 people are expected.

Sharon Megdal was a recipient of a UA at the Leading Edge award announced at UA Innovation Day, March 6. She was one of five UA faculty to be recognized for performing cutting-edge research and translating that research into real-world application.

The Nature Conservancy in Arizona and Arizona Project WET at the University of Arizona (Water Education for Teachers) are joining forces to bring a water education program to the Phoenix-metro area.
