ADWR Hosts Public Hearing on Proposed Willcox AMA

The Arizona Department of Water Resources (ADWR) hosted a public hearing on November 22, 2024, to discuss designating the Willcox Groundwater Basin as an active management area (AMA). The committee members presented an outline of the AMA designation process, the background and regulatory features of the designation, and an overview of hydrology in the Willcox area. After presenting factual data in favor of designating an AMA, ADWR staff offered hearing attendees the opportunity to deliver comments on how the measure would impact them individually.
