This year marks 51 years of ongoing stream adjudication litigation in the state. Arizona has two pending general stream adjudications: the Gila River Adjudication and the Little Colorado River Adjudication. Stream adjudications are massive, complex court cases that determine the rights and priorities of surface water uses. About 80,000 claims have been filed in Arizona's adjudications. This WRRC Water Webinar will provide an overview of the purpose of general stream adjudications, the history of Arizona's stream adjudications, and updates on the current status of the Gila River Adjudication and the Little Colorado River Adjudication.
