One Water Leadership Summit

Integrated water management takes many shapes, seasons, and strategies to succeed and yet every smart water manager says it's worth the journey, particularly as fiscal constraints, climate pressures, and development opportunities continue to mount.  The One Water Leadership Summit goes to the heart of it all, convening the nation's innovators and decision makers in California's City of Angels (and Dodgers, too), where water has shaped and will continue to shape the fate of local and regional communities, businesses, farms, and families, with ripple effects nationally and globally.

At this year's Summit, community leaders from coast to coast, and points in between, will describe their recent successes, ongoing challenges, and emerging opportunities for urban water sustainability, with special emphasis on green infrastructure and resource recovery.  Atlanta, Bend, Oregon, and New Orleans will each bring a team of leaders to describe the city's efforts to reduce water pollution, promote green infrastructure, and sustain the region's watersheds with innovative methods and approaches.

Keynotes from national leaders, from U.S. Department of Interior, U.S. EPA, the National Wildlife Federation, and the private water and energy sectors will describe trends and priority solutions to integrating, adapting, and collaborating in an era of climate change and urban growth.

This conference is large enough to attract high caliber leadership, but still small enough for attendees to engage directly in the discussions.  Strategic Sidebar Sessions and Roundtable Discussions will involve all participants in the conversation for better solutions.  As always, the Summit allows participants to engage directly in the discussions.  The City of L.A. will also host a "green bus tour" of inspiring local projects that embrace the "one water" theme.  The final day, September 26, will include an impressive focus on Los Angeles with water sustainability leaders and planners from the city and county and surrounding region.

This conference is reasonably priced with special rates for municipal and non-profit participation.  There are a limited number of government rate hotel rooms available on a first-come, first-serve basis.  Contact Hope Hurley, 202.223.2299 or email hhurley@uswateralliance.org.
