Please join us for the University of Arizona Cooperative Extension’s 1st Annual Desert Fresh Produce Safety Collaborative Field Conference in Yuma, Arizona from 8:00am to 4:00pm on March 31st! This unique, hands-on conference will focus on increasing collaboration between produce safety sectors, and is open to small- and large-farm producers, researchers, students, regulatory agencies and anyone with an interest in fresh produce safety.
Morning workshops will cover subjects including: animal intrusion into produce fields; post-harvest food safety; and food safety for the small farmer. Afternoon activities will take place in the field at the Yuma Agricultural Center, and will include a mock post-outbreak interview with media, animal trapping and monitoring techniques, and risk assessment.
