This second webinar in the “Get Ready” series will focus on committees under the Governor’s Water Augmentation, Innovation, and Conservation Council. Philip Richards, Chair of the Desalination Committee, will discuss why desalination is being used as a possible solution for Arizona’s current water challenges and how it can help meet future water needs. In addition, committee Chair Wade Noble and Co-Chair Timothy Thomure will provide updates from the Long-Term Water Augmentation and Post-2025 AMAs Committees.

Philip Richards is the Manager of Water Resource Management at APS, where his team works to ensure a reliable supply of water for two coal power plants, six gas and oil power plants, and the Palo Verde Nuclear Generation Facility. His team also supports development inside APS’s service territory. He is a professional engineer licensed in the States of Arizona and Colorado. Philip has over 20 years of experience in water resource management.

 

Wade Noble has been practicing law in Yuma since 1978. Clients include Wellton-Mohawk Irrigation and Drainage District, Yuma Irrigation District, North Gila Valley Irrigation and Drainage District, and Unit B Irrigation and Drainage District. Before his current appointment, Noble served as Chair of the Arizona Navigable Streams Adjudication Commission, Chair of the Resolutions Committee for the Colorado River Water Users’ Association, and Policy Development Committee Chair then President of the National Water Resources Association.

 

Timothy M. Thomure is the Director of Tucson Water, providing potable and reclaimed water service to 725,000 people in southern Arizona. Tim is a licensed PE with 24 years of experience working in public utilities, private industry, and consulting. His areas of expertise include strategic planning, water supply, water recycling, and organizational development. He currently serves as President of the AZ Water Association. Tim is a past President of WateReuse Arizona and has served on the National Board of the WateReuse Association and the Water Research Foundation.
