USDA Regenerative Pilot Program 

Offers funding of $700 million for farmers to adopt practices that enhance soil health and water quality and increase overall land productivity. 

 

EQIP 1

EQIP 2

A cost sharing program that offers 2 billion dollars in funding annually for producers to make improvements for water development, grazing, or infrastructure. applicants who have been in operation for less than ten years, are veterans, or qualify as disadvantaged receive preference. This program is available to both those who own or lease ranchland and/or farmland.

Conservation Stewardship Program (CSP)

CSP 2

A program that pays producers to engage in conservation practices. In contrast to EQIP, this program rewards existing and continuing conservation activity. To qualify for CSP, producers must meet the stewardship requirements for at least two priority resource concerns: soil erosion, soil quality, water quality, water quantity, air quality, plant health, animal habitat, or energy efficiency.
Regional Conservation Partnership Program 

Funds projects addressing soil health, water quality, or wildlife habitat with an aim to improve land health, enhance resource management, and promote sustainable agriculture and long-term 

protection of agricultural, grassland, and forestland viability

University of Arizona’s Water Irrigation Efficiency Program The program offers up to $1 million dollars per grower to assist in the transition from flood to sprinkler irrigation
ADWR Best Management Practices A program for farmers in AMAs who are committed to implementing conservation practices. These practices are outlined in the management plan for each of Arizona’s AMAs. The outlined strategies may also be utilized outside of AMAs. BMPs covers strategies for conservation in: 1) water conveyance systems, 2) farm irrigation systems, 3) irrigation water management practices, and 4) agronomic management practices. Updated BMPs are listed with each iteration of the management plans.

  15. Irrigation efficiency is defined as the ratio of water put to beneficial use compared with the aggregate amount utilized. A operation with more beneficial use is “more effective”. Non-beneficial uses include evaporation, deep percolation and tail water run-off (Arroyo, 2018)
