Interactive Sessions using Zoom

  • General Meet and Greet – catch up with friends and colleagues, old and new in a free-wheeling session hosted by WRRC Director Sharon B. Megdal. Breakout rooms will also be available for more private conversations.
    Hosted by the University of Arizona Water Resources Research Center (WRRC) – a research, education, outreach and engagement unit in the Division of Agriculture, Life and Veterinary Sciences and Cooperative Extension.
     
  • Careers in Water Resources Management – network with students, early career talent, and established water managers and professionals. The room is hosted by John Kmiec, SAWUA President and Tucson Water Deputy Director, who will be joined by Peter Abraham, Director, Oro Valley Water; Melodee Loyer, General Manager, Farmers Water Company (Green Valley); Joe Olsen, General Manager, Metro Water District; and Tim Thomure, Director, Tucson Water, to talk about water resource careers.
    Hosted by the Southern Arizona Water Users Association (SAWUA) – an association of 15 Tucson area entities that coordinates development of effective water resource policy and planning to preserve and enhance the region’s water resources.
     
  • On the Future of Groundwater Management in Arizona – continue the conversation initiated during The Road Traveled panel discussion with past ADWR Directors. AMWUA staff will be hosting Kathleen Ferris, well-known water attorney, and some of her fellow former Arizona Department of Water Resources directors for an informal discussion featuring their additional insights on the way forward for Arizona water
    Hosted by Arizona Municipal Water Users Association (AMWUA) – an association of 10 valley cities dedicated to protecting their members’ability to provide assured, safe, and sustainable water supplies.
