Sharon Udasin to Speak at Tucson Festival of Books
This year’s Tucson Festival of Books on March 14-15 will include two panel presentations on PFAS contamination in water. The first panel, titled The Hidden Environment: What We Breathe, Drink, and Hear, will be moderated by WRRC Director Sharon B. Megdal and will feature environmental journalist Sharon Udasin. With over fifteen years’ experience reporting on water pollution, Udasin is the author of the 2025 book “Poisoning the Well: How Forever Chemicals Contaminated America.” She will also take part in a second PFAS panel, titled (In)visible Harms & Toxic Truths, which will feature Udasin along with Mariah Blake, the author of “They Poisoned the World: Life and Death in the Age of Forever Chemicals.” A full schedule of presentations can be found on the Tucson Festival of Books Website. In addition, on March 16, Sharon Udasin will give a presentation on PFAS at the University of Arizona Environmental Science Colloquium co-sponsored by the WRRC and Udall Center for Public Policy.
