Meet APW’s New Tucson AmeriCorps Members

Oct. 21, 2021

Each year, AmeriCorps offers opportunities for adults of all ages and backgrounds to serve through a network of partnerships with local and national nonprofit groups. The APW program coordinators work with AmeriCorps members to ensure the delivery of quality programs to its constituents. Please join APW in welcoming four new Tucson AmeriCorps members to its team.

I am a student currently enrolled at ASU, pursuing a BS in Sustainability. I have found there are a lot of different pathways within Sustainability that can lead to a satisfying career, but they are all rooted in engagement and community. These are what have drawn me to serving with AmeriCorps. The values of AmeriCorps and the projects they connect with, like AZ Project WET, align with my own values and it makes me proud to spend my time giving back to the community.  On a personal note, I have two lovely parrots (Lucy and Lily) and if we are ever on a video call together, they will make sure to introduce themselves. They have a knack for knowing exactly when I open a Zoom call!

I have lived in Tucson for most of my life and love the desert. I am a student at Pima Community College, working toward an associate's degree in Administration of Justice with plans to transfer over to the UArizona. I am super excited to be a part of APW and hope to meet everyone soon!

Hello! I am a recent graduate of the University of Tennessee. I studied Wildlife and Fishery Sciences and am a strong supporter of conservation - whether it is the conservation of different environments, animals, plants ... or water! Thus, I am excited to join APW and take part in educating others about the importance of conserving water.

Hi! I am a freshman at the UArizona and I'm interested in studying environmental science. I've lived in Tucson since 2016 and have had a lot of fun here. I love going on road trips and exploring new places. In my free time, I like meeting with my friends or having horror movie marathons. I'm excited to be working with AmeriCorps and alongside my coworkers!
