Water, such a vital component to our lives and the environment around us, is also the main ingredient in beer. As we dive into what it takes to make beer and the role water has in this fermented beverage we’ll also investigate some creative ways we are able to conserve water inside the brewery and out. From involvement with local farmers, a maltster, and a charitable environmental organization to working with recycled wastewater, all it takes is an idea, a conversation, and little creativity to make an impact.
WRRC Conference 2019 - Arizona Runs On Water: Scarcity, Challenges, and Community-based Solutions
Full Program, See agenda below
How do Arizona communities ensure that they have sufficient water to meet their future needs? This is the critical question being addressed at the upcoming UA Water Resources Research Center annual conference to be held on February 1st at the Black Canyon Conference Center in Phoenix, Arizona. Join us for informative presentations and lively conversation about how Arizona communities are addressing their water challenges through collaboration, conservation, market-based approaches, long-term planning, and more. One size does not fit all!
This conference will bring together speakers from across the state to look at place-based ideas and solutions. Are there common barriers faced by communities or across water sectors? How do we build on accomplishments to create strong successes? What changes in state laws and governing policies would be helpful? Panel discussions, a nationally known keynote speaker, and an Arizona legislators panel will be key features of the day.
See sponsorship benefits here.
Each year, we are grateful to our many sponsors who enable us to keep registration prices low, offer greatly reduced student rates, and maintain the high-quality of this annual event. We are currently inviting sponsorships at four levels. Sponsorship benefits grow with the contribution levels, but all sponsors are featured on our registration page, have their logos on all promotional materials, and are recognized and thanked at the conference. Top sponsors (Arroyo level) are further recognized for their support of the student who will research and write the Arroyo, that follows-up and expands on the conference topic.
Participate in our conference
In order to learn more about efforts undertaken across Arizona, we are soliciting additional case studies that describe a place-based water challenge/solution. You will find a form here that asks about the nature of the challenge, the solution, and the barriers or opportunities that hinder or help.
Conference Sponsors 2019
Sponsoring both the conference and the 2019 Arroyo following up on the conference topic!
