EVALUATION OF WATER HARVESTING REBATE PROGRAMS IN TUCSON, AZ

“An evaluation of Tucson’s water harvesting rebate programs was performed by Ethan Vimont, who published his results in his 2017 Thesis for a Master of Science degree from the University of Arizona. Vimont found that water harvesting system maintenance is necessary to keep the system operating. If preventative measures are neglected, the system is likely to be troubled by water overflows, odor and mosquito problems. The most common maintenance need is cleaning gutters. He also found that installing water harvesting systems is not likely to change the greenness of properties within three years, a finding that contradicts common assumptions. Read his evaluation here.”
