Brown Bag Seminar - Success and Backlash: The Remarkable (Continuing) Story of the Clean Water Act

Speaker: William L. Andreen, Edgar L. Clarkson Professor of Law, University of Alabama School of Law

 Bill teaches Environmental Law at the University of Alabama, School of Law and is a prolific scholar.  His writing has largely concentrated on the Clean Water Act but he has also written on a number of other environmental and regulatory topics including adaptive management, climate change and oil spills. He is active internationally, teaching for many years at the Australian National University and Addis Ababa University in Ethiopia. He has served as chair of the Environmental Law Section of the American Association of Law Schools and president of the Alabama Rivers Alliance. He is currently a member of the Environmental Law Commission of the World Conservation Union (IUCN); Of Counsel to the Alabama Rivers Alliance; Scholar Member of the Center for Progressive Reform; and faculty member of the University of Alabama's Freshwater Studies Center.
